In October 2018, ERA in Canada — the network’s Canadian home, founded in Calgary in 2004 — announced its expansion into the United States under a new name: the Electronic Reusing Association (ERA USA).

The first US donations followed in Seattle in 2019 — a first donation alongside City Councilmember Lisa Herbold, 20 laptops to Southwest Youth & Family Services, and an iPad to Seattle GOOD.
